Advocacy for our Parents and Carers

Advocacy helps parents and carers claim their rights.

Gowanbank Parent Council provides professional, independent advocacy services to the the parents and carers of our Gowanbank Primary and LCR community. We work one on one with the parent and carers of the children and young people who attend Gowanbank Primary School and LCR to help them have a say in what happens at their school. We strive to provide advocacy that helps our parents and carers feel respected, included, listened to and understood. We’re independent to any education body – this is crucial because we want our parents and carers to to be supported and understood with no conflict of interest.

Advocacy helps parents and carers claim their rights.

The team at Gowanbank Parent Council want to build trusting, long-term relationships with our the parents and carers of our school community.

We do that so that parents and carers will feel comfortable enough to tell us how they really feel. In turn, we do everything we can to make sure their voice is heard.

  • Advocacy is an equal partnership between parents and cares and their the Gowanbank Parent Council.
  • The Gowanbank Parent Council develops  a trusting relationship with parents and carers, and helps them to have their say and understand what they want to say.
  • The Gowanbank Parent Council can help a parents and carers speak to the Head Teacher, education authority or HMIE
