Gowanbank Parent Council to tender lease for new base
Gowanbank parent council decided unanimously to tender a lease for 1 year at the “old top to toe” beauty salon on Nitshill Road.
At emergency parent council meeting held yesterday (10 march 2021), It was explained to members of the parent council that office bearers want to yesterday a decision was taken by the office bearers start the process to secure premises outside the school.
The reason give for this decision was to ensure that the parent council are able to effectively carry out their functions and duties, to ensure they can effectively represent their school community and interests. our children, our parents & carers and the wider community.
A spokes person for the parent council said, “By securing these outside premises we as a parent council are able to accomplish so much more than we are at the moment; GowanbankGrub will even more accessible to parents whom are reluctant to get support at school , we can open up to the wider community , we have forged relationships with community partners to provide support to the our Gowanbank family and the wider community that we were unable to do so before as a result of restrictions, our parents and carers can to speak to us in confidence about problems that they are currently having with education in general terms , so we can effectively represent their views of and we are well placed to encourage links between the school, parents and carers, pupils, pre-school groups and the wider community as well as develop strong home/school partnerships.”
The head teacher of Gowanbank Primary and LCR told a member of the parent council that “this is a great opportunity and that she was excited”
