More Than Just Food

No organisation – no matter how big –  can replace the dignity of having enough to have enough money coming to cover the cost of all your essentials, whether from it’s from full – time or part – time employment secure work that pays the real Living Wage or a benefits system that actually works and  saves people from being swept into the depths poverty.

That’s why GowanbankGRUB  offers additional support to deliver more than food, we want to tackle the root causes that lock people into poverty and build people’s resilience so they are less likely to need any food bank in the future. This could by providing guidance on where to find help with benefits, housing and debt, or a referral to a special advisor (sometimes within GowanbankGRUB).

GowanbankGrub also provide a number of a easy to access FREE workshops and programs that are open to everyone within the G53 community that surround financial wellbeing, health and wellness, mindfulness and more.

No one should go without essentials – we’re here to help

As a community we expect no one should be left without the basic essentials. Illness, disability, family breakdown or the loss of a job can happen to anyone. We owe it to ourselves to ensure their is  sufficient financial support  in place when we need it most. For too many people, just making ends meet is a daily struggle.

for people living with  disabilities, health conditions, families with children, and single parents a groups are groups of  people that have  been hit  harshly by the ever increasing costs of necessities like food and housing,  and unfortunately they’re most likely to be in need our GowanbankGRUBS help.

While we work together with other organisations structural issues that lock people into poverty, GowanbankGRUB provide the best possible emergency food and support to people in crisis within the G53 (Greater Pollock Area)

GowanbankGRUB work closely with schools, community groups, and people within the community identify people in need of help, and there is no need for food vouchers to receive our help.

GowanbankGRUB welcome and support everyone who is referred to them, always treating them with respect and upholding their dignity. Volunteers will give a minimum of three days’ emergency food, and offer people support to resolve the difficulties they face.

We can help address your crises and provide support to maximise your income, help you navigate the benefits system, and identify any additional grants you could be entitled to. If, we can arrange for food parcels, emergency fuel vouchers, and essential grants.

In order to get help from a GowanbankGRUB you will NOT require a voucher, All we ask is that you use out online booking system or contact our customer service center on 0141 319 5410 or 0300 7011 if your in immediate crisis.

Visiting GowanbankGRUB

GowanbankGRUB offer a safe and welcoming environment, where trained volunteers will provide a listening ear and support to find further help while your food parcel is prepared.

What’s in a food parcel?

A parcel consists of nutritionally balanced, non-perishable tinned and dried foods, which provide at least three days of healthy, balanced meals for individuals and families.
