How you can help put a smile on of a few Hundred kids’ faces as Gowanbank Parent Council launch Easter Appeal.
Just after the busiest time of the year – and that’s Christmas, we at the Gowanbank Parent Council have launched our yearly Easter egg appeal to help our the children of our across our Gowanbank Primary School and LCR community.
Over the last weeks we have been working hard to forge relationships with businesses within our local community to secure prizes to raffle to raise funds to purchase the large quantity of eggs we need.
Gowanbank Parent Council estimates that around 300 Easter eggs were given out to the children of Gowanbank Primary School last year. We have already received £180 in donations within a week of the 2021 appeal launching.
The communications liaison for the parent council said “ I feel very thankful for the support that we get from our donors and our local community to help our appeals., Because I know that there are children out there who won’t be getting and chocolate eggs the Easter”.
“This is honestly just another form of poverty, as with period poverty and school uniform poverty, I mean perhaps you could even call this chocolate poverty.
The Gowanbank Parent Council want to as always say a “massive thank you for the support we get from our local community, we could not bring a smile to our children’s faces without you.”
